Congrats on wanting to join one of the relatively non-broken petsites out there! Here's a few handy tips to help get you on your way.

SIGNING UP:
Don't multi-account. The staff are actually super good at picking up this kind of thing, and you will get the banhammer. Also, be super sure you're happy with your username, because it costs real-world money to change it!
Also, if you know of another subeta player, please put in their username into the referral box - it helps us as well as you. (Mine is hungarian-dancer!)

PETS:
Time for your first pet - and while you can indeed make your own Brand New Pet, I'd suggest instead going to Delphi's Adopt R Us and picking out a pet that someone else simply doesn't want any more. This way, you can get one of the super cool experiments or a pre-potion'd pet for a handful of change instead of hours of gameplay!

Pets can have their colour changed with potions*, or their species changed with elixirs OR the Pet Zapper! There are currently 32 different colour options for pets, including normal. A handy dandy list of all of these can be found over here. Something else to keep in mind is that 14 of those colours are merely recolours, whilst the other 18 involve pose changes. Elixirs usually change both the pet species and colour, and vary wildly in price. The Pet Zapper costs 15 Wizard Tokens a go, and occasionally produces Experiments instead of other pets. It can also zap items in your inventory into ash, so beware!

Another way to get potions is to enter the Potion Lottery, which is drawn daily and gives out one type of potion at random to whoever has bought a ticket (or several) in it.

* Three colours involve rather expensive quests**, and therefore have some of the rarest colour pets: Steamwork, which needs a Yunium Key and a Blueprint from Purveryors of Plans, before you take both to Full Steam Ahead. Hydrus pets require that you unlock the Omen Isles with a complete Unknown Land Map, before completing a quest for Merana (which involves expensive items, usually). And Nostalgic Pets need a Nostalgic [Pet Name] Kit to be taken to Vanya's Workshop to activate his quest, where you'll need to gather a Kit (Metalworking, Plushie-making, Plastic Moulding) and some craft supplies to finish your awesome new pet.
** Pets can only be changed into Galactic versions once a month for a few days at the Coda Caves. Glade Potions can be made at Peka Glade, as long as you have an Ornate Floral Pitcher in your inventory.

MONEY
Subeta's currencies.... well. It has a few, to say the least. Some are relics from past events, never again to be repeated, whilst others are seasonal. This is a brief overview of the main types.

- sP (Subeta Points): The main currency, the one that all the NPC and User Shops are priced in. It can be earned from playing games (I highly recommend Caliph's Tomb, Item Hunt, and Matlal's Jewels) and completing Quests for some major NPCs, as well as earned by selling items in your own shop. You can bank sP and collect interest once per day on your balance. sP can be removed from your onhand balance by random events, so it's advisable to bank some of what you make every day.

- CSC (Cash Shop Credits): Like most petsites, Subeta has a premium currency that can be used to buy stuff in the Cash Shop - Account Upgrades, some rare Potions, wearable items... The Cash Shop has it all. Probably. CSC gift cards are also commonly used on the forums as prizes for competitions and also as payment for services like profile coding and art.

- Recycle Points: These are generated when you donate items to the Recycle Beast, and are used to purchase items from its shop. There are often seasonal items in there that rotate out, as well as a Legendary Weapon. You can smelt 100k sP per day into Recycle Points, for those who don't want to go to the hassle of buying and then donating items. It's a good sP sink.

- Wizard Tokens: The main reason people do Wizard Quests, these are used for the Vending Machines, as well as Carnival Games, the Zapper, and the Token Shop & Blackheart Hollow (when they restock). You can get 250 tokens a day if you complete the quests quickly enough.

- Forum Tickets: I've heard that people get them when they post on the forums. I've never actually seen one myself. Used to buy stuff in the forum shop.

How to play

i. manipulation

01. Mind games. You're messing with this person's head, using whatever you know about them to your advantage. Words are barbs, and everyone has a weakness.
02. Stay close to me. You're not letting this person out of your sight. And you don't care what extreme measures you have to go to in order to do it.
03. Blackmail. You know something and you're not afraid to use it against them. Now they have to do what you want.
04. Love makes you do things. It's because you love them that you're making them do this. If they truly loved you, wouldn't they do as you say?
05. For your own good. It doesn't matter what the other person wants. You know what's best, and you're going to force it on them whether they like it or not.
06. Break you down. You're going to make the other person think they're worthless. Crush their self-esteem, break them until they're entirely helpless.
07. Betrayal. You made a promise, and you broke it. Or perhaps you betrayed this person's trust. It's all part of gaining the upper hand.
08. Lies, lies, lies. Fool the other person with words and you'll have them wrapped around your finger in no time.
09. Sob story. A little bit of emotional manipulation never hurt anyone, right? You're going to use this person's feelings for you against them. Make them feel sorry!
10. In your debt. Look, you saved them. The other person wouldn't be here without you. They should show some gratitude.
11. I need you. You're depending on the other person to do as you say. They're the only one who can help.
12. Your choice. Combine any of the above scenarios or choose your own! It's up to you.

ii. mastery

01. Pretty little puppet. You can command this person at will. They're a plaything, to do with as you please.
02. You're mine. You own this person, and you're going to make sure they know it.
03. No escape. Maybe you've locked the other person up somewhere, maybe you've got them in chains. Either way, they're not going anywhere.
04. Put in your place. That's it. The other person made one too many caustic comments, got in your way one last time. Now you're going to show them who's boss.
05. Force of strength. Nothing like a good old fashioned brawl to really prove who's stronger.
06. Cornered. Finally, you've got them alone. This is the moment you've been waiting for – and perhaps the moment they've been dreading.
07. Turning the tables. They thought they'd won, but here's your chance! Maybe it's time to give them a taste of their own medicine, or maybe you have a new trick up your sleeve.
08. Punishment. The other person has done something wrong, or maybe just something you don't like. Now you're going to punish them.
09. Back and forth. I have a laser gun! Well, I have a lightsaber! Whatever it is, you're closely matched and trying to outdo each other.
10. Make them beg. You hold all the power and whatever it is they want or need, you're going to make them beg for it.
11. Call my bluff. You're making claims you can't back up. Can you bluff your way out of this, or will the other person catch on?
12. Your choice. Combine any of the above scenarios or choose your own! It's up to you.

05. Teacher-Student. It's your duty to ensure that your student succeeds. Will you help or hinder them?
06. Doctor-Patient. Their well-being in your hands.

09. Master-Servant. You're master of the household, meaning the servant is at your beck and call.

THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE MEME
inspired by the Left 4 Dead games, The Walking Dead, and various other zombie-related media.
It's a scenario that needs little introduction: the dead have risen to feast upon the living.
In the beginning there were evacuations, emergency broadcasts, reassurances from the government and the media.
It was hoped that things would return to normal sooner rather than later. But eventually, all that's left are the shambling hordes.
So take up that baseball bat, or your father's shotgun. Cling tight to your memories of the better times, or your faith, or whatever keeps you going.
The odds aren't stacked in your favor....but maybe you'll survive.
